MISSING: Where Did The RM3.2 Million Toilets In Bangsar Go?
Today, Bangsar Residents Are Shocked To Discover That Eight Of These Toilets Were Destroyed Last Month
-
At a time when Kuala Lumpur City Hall is struggling to justify the need to increase property assessment rates, Bangsar folk are baffled how the council demolished eight fancy RM3.2 million toilets which were hardly seven years old.
-
City Hall's landscape and recreation department deputy director-general Yusuf Othman said eight AST units were demolished last month.
-
Bangsar Baru Residents Association president Datuk George Joseph was surprised to find the Automated Street Toilet (AST) in front of the Saidina Abu Bakar As-Siddiq mosque at Jalan Telawi was torn down.
-
"The toilet is no longer there. Why did City Hall build it in the first place? Isn't this a waste of money?" asked George. "City Hall needs to be more frugal with its expenditure. Why must we pay high assessment rates if they are wasting our money?"
We Demolished Them Because Nobody Uses Them And They're Too Expensive To Maintain, Says DBKL
But The Residents Say That Many People Use The Toilets As They Are Strategically-Placed
