Sunat bagi perempuan adalah haram jika hingga mencacatkan organ kelamin tersebut,malah sebahagian ulama al azhar telah mengharamkan apa2 kaedah sunat perempuan,mereka yg masih melakukan di mesir dan beberapa negara arab boleh di hukum.
bagi saya kalau sunat perempuan yg menjadi adat dan budaya dlm alam melayu di msia masih boleh di terima kerana umumnya kaedah mereka adalah sekadar lukakan sedikit dgn pisau area clit (ada juga sekadar lalukan pisau tanpa melukakan;syarat je)atau sekadar cucuk jarum dan paling teruk yg pernah saya dengar hanya gunting/potong sgt kecil di hujung kulup (clitoros hood) yg hampir tidak memberi kesan apa2 tapi itu di msia di negara indonesia ada yg praktik sama seperti msia ada juga yg lebih teruk seperti potong terus clitoros..di pendalaman timur tenggah dan afrika selain clitoros bibir luar(labia majora) juga di potong....
Kita nak ikut budaya/adat atau nak dengar fatwa ulama pilih lah....

Continuing the rubric of "post from the past": Today, female circumcision is prevalent in 30 countries, mostly in the Middle East and Africa. Doctors who perform female circumcision, saying that there are many reasons for this procedure - from religious beliefs to prevent cervical cancer. However, this is not enough good reasons to endanger women's health, and in particular child. Often the healing process is long and can be mixed. The procedure itself can cause bleeding and infertility, and sometimes even leads to death.
In honor of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad 284 families from Jakarta have the material means to ensure that their daughter took part in a mass circumcision. The winner of numerous photographic competitions, Stephanie Sinclair visits a ceremony and invites us to look at the harrowing footage.
