I should note, apparently, not all pictures of this trip have reached our time, so we can see the obvious gaps: very little of Brazil, Argentina, and so there is no Nevertheless, taken together they give us some insight into the world of the late nineteenth century, though it is not clear what guided traveler, making a particular shot. To fill some gaps, I added pictures from other sources. They were made in the same year and in the same places other Dutch travelers. I hope you will forgive me this little freedom.
