RG09... Chinese New Year celebrations in Asia

 



The peoples of Asia have celebrated Chinese New Year or New Year in lunar calendar, which this year occurred on February 3. New Year on the lunar calendar is called "Chinese" because a tradition to celebrate this holiday was born in China and then spread throughout Asia. Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival, celebrated on the solar-lunar Chinese calendar and begins on the day of the first new moon after the winter solstice. (20 photos)
