There have been calls for an investigation into the reliability of
The Rail Maritime and Transport union said a baby in a buggy was near the door when it opened on a Piccadilly line train on Sunday.
The union said the incident raised questions about the safety of the trains, which it said were 40 years old but not due to be replaced for another decade.
RMT general secretary Bob Crow said: 'Clearly, there now needs to be a formal and detailed investigation conducted at the highest level as this is not the first time our members have reported door malfunctions on the ageing Piccadilly line fleet.'
Responding to the claims, Nigel Holness, London Underground's operations director, said: 'Safety systems immediately alerted our train operator after a Piccadilly line train travelling to Heathrow on Sunday was found to have two doors slightly open.
'The operator brought the train to a halt, checked the doors and ensured they could be fully closed before the train was taken to the next station where it was taken out of service.
'The safety of our customers and staff is our highest priority and the train remains out of service while we carry out an investigation.'

A shortage of baked beans could soon be a problem in the West Midlands after thousands of tins were stolen from the back of a lorry.
Members of the public have been warned to look out anyone trying to sell large quantities of Heinz baked beans in 'suspicious circumstances'.
A total of 6,400 tins of beans with sausages were taken from a Scania lorry parked in a Worcestershire layby as the driver slept in his cab.
'Thieves cut a large hole in the curtain-sided articulated lorry parked in a rural layby on the A441 at Cookhill, near Redditch,' West Mercia police said in a statement.
'The layby is situated about half a mile from the M42 and the theft happened between 8.45pm Monday and 5.30am yesterday.'
A spokesperson said an entire pallet and part of a second pallet were stolen from the lorry.
Anyone with information has been urged to call police on 101 or alternatively, the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

A quick-thinking MP helped save a woman drowning in the Thames near the Palace of Westminster.
St Austell and Newquay MP Stephen Gilbert, who was at an event on the Commons terrace on Tuesday, threw a lifebelt to the woman as she floated by.
She was able to grab the belt and was pulled from the water by the RNLI further downstream.
A shaken Mr Gilbert said the incident left him 'barely able to string a sentence together'.
The MP said: 'What looked like a body just floated past. Then I saw that the person then moved and I followed them down the terrace.

'There are some lifebuoys on the terrace, I guess this is not the first time something like this has happened.
'I didn't expect for the person to move and then I didn't expect to have to react to get them a lifebuoy.
'She disappeared towards Westminster Pier and she was rescued near to that.'
Police confirmed a woman had been pulled from the river near the pier, just yards from the House of Commons.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: 'The woman was rescued from the water by the RNLI, the marine policing unit was also involved.
'She has been taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.'
Former boxer attacked by tiger shark, escapes by repeatedly punching it in the face

Jeff Horton says he has no plans to give up surfing, despite the close call (Picture: KHON2)
A former boxer survived an attack by a man-eating shark by punching his way to safety.
Jeff Horton said he landed eight blows on the 12ft shark after jumping on its back and holding on to its fin.
'I started punching as hard as I could,' he explained.
The 25-year-old, who was surfing off the coast of Hawaii, said the shark finally gave up when he managed to jab a knuckle into its eye.
'I finally got one nice punch into the eye,' Mr Horton told Hawaii-based newspaper the Garden Island. 'I put some really good hits on it, for sure.'

He had been surfing with ten others at Pila'a Beach near Kilauea when the shark suddenly loomed out of the water to take a bite out of his board.
Mr Horton then rolled on to the shark to escape its jaws in the 'do or die' situation, 200 yards from shore.
After the shark decided the surfer was more trouble than he was worth and retreated, Mr Horton managed with the help of a friend to return to the beach, where a tourist gave him $50 (£31) and told him to get drunk.
The board, complete with the shark's teeth marks, is going on display, but Mr Horton, who moved to Hawaii from Washington DC three years ago, has no plans to give up surfing.
'I'll surf the rest of my life,' he told local broadcaster KHON2. 'It's exciting; I like to live on the edge.'
60 per cent of women staff harassed by men at work

60% of women say they have experience sexual harassment in the workplace (Picture: Alamy)
Sexual harassment remains rife in the workplace, with 60 per cent of women saying they have faced it from a male colleague.
Almost a quarter of female workers have had a more senior member of staff make a pass at them, but only 27 per cent of victims have reported the matter to their boss, a survey shows.
'We deal with some really shocking cases of sexual harassment in the workplace but it's always surprising to hear how widespread the issue is and how many women don't feel like they can report behaviour like this,' said employment lawyer Claire Dawson, of Slater & Gordon, which commissioned the poll.
'We are well into the 21st century now and the message doesn't seem to have got through to everyone that this just isn't acceptable.
'Women have a right to go to work without having to fend off unwanted advances or inappropriate behaviour from members of the opposite sex.'
Ms Dawson added that harassed women often ended up being 'unfairly disadvantaged' after the event.
Her firm's poll of 1,036 female workers also found that two thirds of harassment victims had been targeted by married men.
The most common places for harassment were at the woman's desk as she worked a late shift, in a lift or staff corridor, and at an office party.

Police have launched an appeal for information after a pensioner was slashed in the face with a knife after coming to the aid of a woman being assaulted by two men.
The 66-year-old was walking towards Earl's Court Road, in Kensington and Chelsea, on Saturday evening when he spotted the two men kicking the woman on the ground.
In an attempt to stop the men assaulting the woman, he punched one of the suspects in the face.
In retaliation, the suspect then slashed the pensioner in the face and the side of the head with a knife.
Police say the two men then ran off towards Warwick Road. The woman also left the scene before officers arrived.
The 66-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment and was later discharged.
Metropolitan Police officers are keen to identity the two suspects and the woman who was assaulted.
The first suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, and of average build. He was wearing dark clothes and a hooded top.
The second is described as a black man, also between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, of average build. He too was wearing dark clothing.
The woman is described as white, with straight blonde shoulder length hair, approximately 5ft 8in tall and was wearing pale-coloured clothes.
Police are urging anyone who may have any information contact DC Alex Montgomerie from Kensington and Chelsea CID on 0208 246 0186 or to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
